  1. "I was also contacted by someone off this thread by BM only. When I replied his message disappeared from my inbox and my reply did not appear to go out. The guy signed his note as 'Ste'. He was asking for the lenses - but they have already been taken by johnnyseven." That would have been me (funnily enough). I didn't get a response from you.
  2. Open with a clear statement about what it is and then spell out the good bits. You've hidden some gems about its spec in here. Caterham Classic. Very low mileage, Caterham Classic for sale. Usual classic spec but benefiting from the following desirable options: 6 Speed Gearbox BMW diff Yokohama AO48 tyres Leather Seats Lowered Floors Full Harnesses Mechanical Oil Pressure Gauge Full weather equipmentEngine upgraded by well-renowned K series engine guru DVA. Gas flowed head Piper Cams Verniers pulleys Jenvey throttle bodies Emerald ecu Powerspeed 4-2-1 exhaustProven 160bhp and 125lbft giving R300 performance. I purchased this from Caterham Cars 4 years ago and am only selling as I've upgraded to a Superlight R500*. *Added something like this back in in case you still want to field that question in your advert. Keep it at the bottom though.
  3. That's a standard question and one I've never understood. However, in your case the answer is simple: "It's such a great car and I enjoyed it so much I bought an R500." Don't refer to anything but the car for sale in the advert though, save it for the chat when they get in touch. That first contact is just as much about you determining if they're a time wasters as it is for them to find out more details about the car you're selling. Don't be afraid to be brief with them, if they're actually interested they'll want to arrange to come and view the car. Save any haggling for that point when they're stood in front of it and are actually offering to complete the transaction.
  4. Your 'advert' on here (this thread) is entitled 'Car for sale'. Your advert on Pistonheads simply says 'Caterham'. You need to do more work for the buyer. At least describe the model of the car in the title. Your advert main photo primarily shows a different car that you aren't selling and then your advert text breaks sentences over separate lines and still doesn't tell me the model of the car. Buyers are lazy. They also want to be enthralled and actually sold something. You're advert is ambiguous and even as a Caterham enthusiast leaves me confused and needing to go and do research before I can understand just what it is you're trying to sell. Meant as constructive feedback, hope it's taken that way.
  5. Yep received them and the quality is good. I've got a buildthread on pistonheads. I'd have done something on here instead but the forum software makes that kind of thing quite difficult and there isn't really a relevant section for a buildthread to fit. Pics etc in here: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=47&t=1721704&i=0
  6. I phoned softbits and they made me a bootcover for my S3, without hoodsticks and with FIA bar. They didn't need any more info or measurements than that and it fits perfectly.

    Silicone hoses?

I've just removed my blue silicone ones and fitted a set of black silicone Samco ones that look infinitely better. For info, Samco's lead time is >10 weeks at the moment. http://www.stenelson.co.uk/caterham/slr39.jpg http://www.stenelson.co.uk/caterham/slr40.jpg
  8. Wasn’t standard on the SLR as far as I can tell. My original order lists the uprated MC and addition of a bias valve as an optional extra. Cost at the time of buying the car was £109.39.
  9. I've got a full set of used 13" Toyo R888s 185/60/13 x2 205/60/13 x2 Shout if they can help.
  10. I recently put new decals on mine after a full respray. I measured where the previous ones were as a reference. However, looking at even factory built cars the position of them seems to vary, so I don't think there is necessarily a 'right' location.
  11. My SLR also has the plastic plugs with the yellow insert. Nick, do you have pics of the lowered headlight brackets fitted on the car and do you know where they are from?
  12. I still have my KV6 ITBS. They're safely in a box in the garage should I ever want to restore the originality! I'd have probably kept them on but a previous owner had already made the swap.
  13. Thanks Simon. Nice coincidence, I called into PGM and they advised I speak to you. I then phoned you before I'd seen that you'd posted in here. Thanks for the chat, look forward to hearing about availability.
