Trying out two types of earplugs from Boots one is wax and the other silicone, the noise reduction is around 20 decibels, not sure how much a factor the wind buffeting is to hearing damage.
  6. Hi Neal Are you using H4 bulbs, if so what bulbs are you using.
  7. Thank you for the advice All done bleeding the clutch, gear change is a little smoother now, very simple process with a clutch & break kit(£5.99), although space to maneuver is limited on the sigma. If anyone needs help let me know.

    Side mirrors

Hi Johnathan I thought it might be something to do with track days, I imagined the Caterham's Carbon Aeroscreen's main purpose was for racing and the side mirrors with the kit are long view for a reason. I've never seen lenses like this before, it was strange when overtaking how far behind the car I just passed seemed, It made the car seem much faster.

    Side mirrors

Hi Chaps I have two sets of carbon side mirrors, one set attached to the stanchions when I use the windscreen and the others are on the Caterham carbon Aero screen which look identical. The lenses on the "Caterham carbon interchangeable Aeroscreen kit" make cars behind look miles away, whereas the others seem to give a normal rear view distance. Does anyone know what this is about?
  10. Just one more thing, after removing any air bubbles from the system, can you just remove the pipe and then close the bleed nipple or do you have to close it while the pipe is still attached
  11. Hi Johnathan Comma Dot 4 previously, Yes had a look at the assembly guide, does the pipe you attach to the bleed nipple just hang down into a jar with fluid in, or is it best to have it up higher than the reservoir when depressing the clutch.

    Indicator upgrade

My car is originally a road sport 1.6.The phone or mirror idea is wonderful Johnathan as its not easy viewing under there and thank you Paul for without your picture I would be stabbing in the dark. How is it disconnected, does it just pull of.
  14. Is the standard Comma DOT4 clutch & brake fluid OK? Attempting to change the clutch fluid, has anyone any good tips on how to bleed the system, sounds like the bleed nipple is a nightmare to deal with. Researched the subject and numerous ideas came up so more confused.

Thanks Johnathan, is it a buzzer, I read some are behind rev counters & speedo clocks
  16. No, type in Brown & Geeson steering wheel boss on eBay or google to see image
  17. On the Sigma is the bleed nipple right next to the clutch pipe that enters the bell housing and does it have a rubber cap?

    Indicator upgrade

Can't seem to locate the sounder behind the indicator togle switch, could it live somewhere else? I can hear it under the dash but can't seem to locate it.

    Hearing effected

Thanks for the advice chaps. Went out tonight with ear plugs, wooly hat and balaclava, engine didn't sound so good but ears felt more protected, I think it was the long run on the motorway the other day, it was very hot so took of the wooly hat, ears were fully exposed I think that did the damage, no side doors also creates quite a draft. Now looking for an Aviator/Traper style hat with fur lined ear flaps plus the earplugs may do the trick.

    Hearing effected

Hi Chaps I noticed the last two days my hearing seemed a bit strange, I've heard of people having their ears syringed to improve hearing.. Suddenly realized its the car, researched the subject, what a twit I never thought that driving a 7 was going to make me deaf, hence the earplugs and headphones all makes sense now, I loved the noise so ear plugs or just go deaf are the only options, the 7 experience goes on and on. Caterham need to add a health warning to new sales above and beyond the obvious ones he he

    Indicator upgrade

I was struggling to hear the indicator signal at times but decided to live with it, today it just went into a none existent whisper so need some advice as to what's wrong with it and what options are available. I believe it was Doug that mentioned he had replaced his with something far more audible.
  23. A few people commented one had a £1000 fine and another motor bike rider £2,600 fine for incorrect number plates. Went and bought normal size front plate today, put it on the car and I hate it, I will just have to look away.
  24. Hi Chaps Does anyone know the amp rating of the heated windscreen cable (blue &black)
