That sounds like me..! I won't have been doing a huge rate of knots as I'm running in a re-built engine. I've had the car about six years and never used the full hood, so that was a bit of an experiment. And it is only early Feb after all..!

Ian - good to see you again on Monday; sorry you were suffering slightly. Can I add my thanks to the track day organisers for putting on another fabulous event, this time involving a complex mix of novice and more experienced groups. As far as I'm aware, I don't think there was a single incident or even a yellow flag. Please see DM re photo request. Best wishes, Tim

As part of the Buddy system associated with Lotus 7 Club Trackdays, could any participants from, say, the Farnham area of Surrey, driving to Brands hatch tomorrow, be reminded that it tends to contribute to the overall enjoyment of the day if they remember to pack the ignition key for their 7 before they set off..!

I've got through a couple of starter motor solenoids in the last 12 months. Same symptoms, particularly when hot (which I imagine Spain is...). Each time giving the solenoid a smart tap with a hammer, spanner or similar seemed to do the trick. Not the most convenient, but it might get you home. -
When I bought my 2004 K series, the clutch had already been converted to hydraulic, (possibly with a view to avoiding cable failure as well as easier operation..?). At Cadwell a couple of years ago, the linkage between the slave cylinder and clutch plate snapped..! (Red flags and recovery vehicle..!)... I took the opportunity to revert to cable and it has been much better since and seems easier to use.
