  1. Real life has got in the way over the past few days I'm afraid Nigel. It's half term up here, so busy with the offspring. Thanks for asking though. This weekend sees me fitting the uprights, and next weekend is the big "engine in" event. What little time I have had, I've been figuring out and shrink wrapping headlight wiring, as well as finding new, different and incorrect ways to put an indicator into the conical pod. I kid you not. More soon, here and on the blog.
  2. Thanks again all. Owing to me being a bit previous with the making tape application, I've reversed progress a little. I taped up but hadn't fitted the IVA trim around the holes, came to offer up a wishbone and realised it would be impossible, or at least very difficult, to fit later. Cue removal of lots of tape very carefully (nice tip @nickh7, ta). Then a lot of swearing while I got the trim in place when what I really wanted to be doing was assembling my front uprights. I'm now back to the point I was before but with trim in place and a lot less masking tape applied this time around. Cheers @pugwash for the nylon bolt approach. I like the idea, although the attachment of the rear wings seems a long way away at the moment! I'll make a note though, for when I do get there in March 2020.
  3. Thanks @Mucus72, @nigelpugh and @rockinroyston. I've stopped staring at it and started building it. The adventure is underway.
  4. It's arrived. Let the fun begin.
  5. @Mucus72: yes, it's more expensive than Amazon Prime and I get telly with that. @Mossy7: No! Got a call at half past six that they would not make it until the morning. Have opened a single malt to console myself.
  6. Excitement overload indeed. The kit should have left Dartford at 9am this morning, and I've calculated a likely earliest arrival time of about 5pm today, allowing for rest stops and traffic. Imagine me hyperventilating into a paper bag, and you'll have about the right impression of the nervous energy levels in Scotland today.
  7. Thank you all for the fine advice and the benefit of your experience. I feel I'm about to join a small, and quite difficult to enter, club of people who have built their own car. I'll remember lots of tea, patience and attention to the manual. I've sorted the floor and a modicum of heating. Derek's acquaintance I shall make. I'll also pop along to my local tuner to get the lay of the land with the IVA centre. See you back here when I can't work out which way the steering rack fits on day 1.
  8. Calling experienced builders out there. My kit arrives in 6 sleeps. The garage renovations are almost complete, just some tidying and organising to do. Any sage advice from you chaps around receiving the kit, organising the boxes, first jobs on the car? Cheers!
  9. How about a Roller: '78 Silver Shadow II, bargain at £11K. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/142093300829?clk_rvr_id=1080142373811&vectorid=229508&lgeo=1&utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=dlvr.it&item=142093300829&rmvSB=true
  10. Might also be worth looking out the Caterham 7 episode of Wheeler Dealers as he replaces the existing floors with lowered ones in the car and runs into exactly this issue - and solves it neatly. YouTube is your friend. Series 12 ep 13 I think.
  11. RTFM indeed! Lol, should have thought of that myself. Thanks!
  12. Cheers Dr Slotter. I've gone back to the site and checked again against an SV and S3 model of the same year and the site gives me the same tracking for both. Rubbish. My search for reliable measurements I can trust continues.
  13. After a bit more noodling on the internet, I found the answer here: http://www.automobile-catalog.com/make/caterham/super_7_caterham/super_7_caterham_roadsport_sv/2015.html Wheelbase: 2305mm Front track: 1270mm Rear track: 1336mm The page claims to have the data for a Roadsport SV 125, good enough for my purposes. Cheers, Rob.
  14. Can anyone point me to where I can get hold of the wheelbase and track of the current 360 SV? Just checking garage space and whether I'll be able to use my inspection pit when I'm building. Thanks in advance, Rob.
