  1. Hi Jonathan I knew id seen it somewhere ......... you sent me the Cosworth build manual some time ago, I just couldn't see the info I was after. I can now 😄 Thanks again Adrian
  2. Hi All does anyone know the torque settings for the three aluminium sump plugs on the CSR dry sump ( two different sizes ) I have seen these settings somewhere but can't find it amongst the number of CSR documents i have, Thanks in advance, Adrian
  3. Jonathan i have just tried to send you a PM but your inbox appears to be full. Regards, Adrian
  4. Andrew have you seen Steve Marsh's web site/page :- http://www.sjmmarsh.f2s.com/ There is a lot of very useful CSR stuff on there...... including suspension details Adrian
  5. Hi Andrew just popped out into the garage and measured mine ..... at your measure point I get 160mm (approx) Regards Adrian
  6. Hi Mark prior to my ownership one of the "toe link tabs" on the rear upright of my CSR was broken, I think it was broken in error whilst assembling or jacking up so not in use. The broken lug was welded back on and knowing the owner it would have been done properly and not by a "chap round the corner " It may be possible to repair by welding by a certified welder ...... a good start would be someone involved in the motorsport fabrication industry, they would also have possible access to crack testing Regards Adrian
  7. James i have a CSR, the previous owner designed and had made a crumple zone arrangement to go in front of the sump. I've added a ramp in the hope the car will ride up over any "issue" or will deform and not hit the sump directly. The car is in lockdown somewhere else so the above photo is the only one I have currently. Adrian
  8. David part numbers printed on a label on pump :- 19780189931 and 53036/260. I got it from Redline ( excellent service) To get the honeycomb section of the boot floor out on my CSR is a bit tight, I strap up the roof stays ( to give more space ) and the section in question will just squeeze out sideways to the left. p.s yes the pump came with the seal Regards Adrian
  9. Hi David i have a CSR and have recently taken the pump out ( small leak around seal ). Follow the loom away from the pump and you should find a multi pin connector, mine was down in front of the tank strapped to the chassis. If you remove the six screws the pump comes out as one i.e. That is not just a cover, if you have to take the pump out it is a bit of a fiddle .... the pump does not sit directly below but at an angle of about 45 deg. i may have a photo of a new pump if that helps ..... will have to work out how to post it. A new pump is over £300 Good luck, Regards Adrian
  10. Thanks for the replies guys, David ..... I have already spoken to Avon unfortunately they have none. Ian .... I gave Sevens and Classics a call this morning, apparently they bought up the last of the CR500 stock from Avon but sadly they have no CSR rears left. Adrian
  11. Hi I know Avon have discontinued the CR500 tyre but am looking to see if there are any new ones still around. I've tried Caterham, BMTR and Avon direct with no luck, anyone got any leads ? Thanks in advance, Adrian
  12. Hi David just came across your blog it's very interesting reading as I also have a CSR. You mention trying to get a "quick rack" .... my current rack has 1.6 turns lock to lock, I have an issue with a bit of play in the end bushes and ordered a new one from Caterham but like you ended up with a 2 turns lock to lock rack. After a number of conversations with caterham and Titan ( with no conclusion ) I sent the rack back. I would be interested in what they told you. With reference to the map in your ecu, I understand it is locked and needs " special cosworth " software to access not just an unlock code ( I believe this is what the few rolling road/engine mappers have but I stand to be corrected ) i have bought the lead etc from sbd and you can access basic info but not the fuel or ignition maps. Regards Adrian
  13. Hi All Whilst draining the oil from my CSR I have noticed some very fine metal partials, they are not ferrous and I cannot see any copper bearing material ( I need to have a closer look with a magnifying glass ) .......... any clues of what it may be, do 2.3 Duratec's have any know issues with tight tolerance's .... timing chain rubbing for example ? Also any recommendations for engine builders ( I am based in Bucks ) if I find a re build is required ( don't currently have the time to do it my self ) Any advise appreciated p.s .... i am careful with the oil level and the car is mainly used on the road
