  1. Collect from Warwick. I don't want any money for it, just a suitable donation. Cheers.
  2. Did you get a custom map? Mine idles at ~1500rpm and I've seen lots about not being able to get the idle speed down to normal revs with Titan rollers. Have you got a photo of the back of the filter, it's quite different to mine (all enclosed in a carbon box).
  3. A new Ford/Titan diff sold on eBay recently for £1150ish. That was new from Caterham but the last one I think. I hope the buyer gets lucky and it's not a screamer! I found as well as spinning momentum away it also spins expensive CR500s away, I lost 2mm on the unloaded wheel with no notable wear on the other 3! No difference in noise in normal driving that I've noticed, just grumbles a bit off the drive, t-junctions and very tight turns, as expected really. It was a great upgrade for me, car didn't make sense with an open diff.
  4. Received some more information on this today. Apparently when the diff is installed in a BMW there's a spring spacer/circlip type arrangement to keep pressure on the seal as the driveshafts move. In the Caterham installation this is omitted and replaced with a plane spacer. Therefore if the driveshafts are moving, I guess bumps, hard cornering, donuts(!) etc, a small amount of oil can ease out. No cure apparently as the driveshaft would need to be modded to include the spring element.
  5. It's holding up very well, but a couple of months and a couple of hundred miles isn't really much of a test! I've got a bit of weeping at the driveshaft output seals but this isn't strictly related to the LSD other than it being more likely to exacerbate the situation. From memory the Titan bits are around £750 and the road race rebuild and carriage took it to around £950. I can check that though if you need.
  6. I've done it, by which of course I mean Nick Potter spannered it on and off and Road Race rebuilt it with the Titan LSD. What's the question?
  7. Curious! On a different but related note, where is the breather on a BMW diff?
  8. And btw Dr Slotter, how old is your car? Would my 2009 car have had the BMW diff from build?
  9. Yep mine leaks. I'm pretty sure it didn't with the open diff the car came with but after fitting an LSD 6 weeks or so back I now get 1 or 2 drops on the underside of the diff after a drive with the fluid having come down from the drive shaft seals. It doesn't drip onto the garage floor, and doesn't leak when not in use. I'm not sure what to do about it tbh, the place that fitted the diff said 'yeah, that can happen'.
  10. Quite a pain of a job apparently. If it helps I've been quoted £130+vat for the self same earlier today.
  11. Hmmm, yes, makes sense, more to do with the 100kg lump sat on the offside, lol!
  12. Noticed those recommended on another thread so will check them out thanks. Pretty even across the width of the tyre, not even across the axle (hence the spinning up comment!).
  13. It's just like the cycling forums I frequent! Anyhow, can anyone steer me towards decent tyres with more longevity then CR500s? It looks like I'll be getting only around ~2000 road miles out of a set of rears, no trackdays. Car is 220bhp and a SV so on the higher duty side of things, 15" rims. I've got a feeling the open diff is lighting one wheel up reasonably frequently but the lsd will have to wait a bit! Front CR500s haven't worn noticeably by comparison.
  14. Thank you kindly, a very comprehensive answer. Indeed mine is a standard dashboard so all appears to be in good order! Once my mind gets to wondering then it won't stop until there's an answer, lol. :)
  15. Just checked that out - the hand brake light doesn't light automatically but it does if I press the 'brake test' rocker switch. It doesn't come on with the use of the handbrake either. Is that correct? Wrt the engine fault warning light, is it normal for that not to light then?
  16. Daft question time: I have a 2009 Duratec SV (with RBTB but i don't think this makes any difference), which warning symbols should light up when I turn to ignition 2? I get a red lightning symbol but both the engine fault and brake/handbrake symbols don't light. Is this correct? Thanks
  17. Presently awaiting some 3M Dual Lock for this very purpose, £6/m from eBay. I wanted removable as I'll have a proper plate and a 'show plate' with illegal spacing. ;)
