  3. My 1988 crossflow engined car has the following problem. Start car and ignition warning light goes out then as revs increase light comes on. 4. Yes Thanks sailed through the MOT with the normal advisory of oil drips from the crossflow. Live near Hazelbury Bryan so would be great to meet up with local 7's.
  5. Shakedown run before MOT today. Good to see another seven out and about.
  6. just compress the spring but the springs are wound quite tight and the motorcycle one can only compress about six inches of the coil which makes them near enough coil bound and is not compressed enough to get the collar on The garage ones are too big for the coils. ( this is on a 1988 car original type shock and spring ).
  7. I have received new shocks and springs from Redline. Managed to fit rear springs onto shocks with motorcycle spring compressor but this will not work on the fronts. Have taken to my friendly garage and motorcycle repair man and neither has tools to fit. Does anybody know if there is anywhere local to Blandford, Dorset who can fit these?
  8. You could try HVE Mobile on 01258 459241. He is used by the garages in Blandford to sort out electrical problems, but have to say was not too keen to work on my seven when I had an electrical glitch. Said he had got stuck in one once.
  9. My 1988 seven has failed its MOT for the 1st time ever. Oil seal leaking on rear axle (live). Has anybody any tips or diagram as how to remove half shaft and replace seal? Bearings have no play at present. Parts have arrived from Redline including new brake shoes.

  13. There should be bracket on engine block that is bolted to block with 2 bolts. Bottom of Alternator is fixed to this with nut and bolt at front and back. Top of alternator is attached with bracket to water pump adjustable at alternator end. Will send photos when I get home if you want retrobolts.co.uk do packs of nuts and bolts for crossflow engines.
