  1. If not too late, could I order a set please? Also, please advise payment details. Thanks Andy
  2. You will have given clear instructions to the guy at the desk and he will have fully understood, he will then have passed them on to the guy doing the job by saying "Bung those tyres on those wheels then go for lunch." I wouldn't have trusted them to do the job without me being there with the car. I'd take them back straight away and get them to remove the weights and re-balance them correctly, The work is not fit for purpose if you told them about the caliper clearance. Better still get your money back and take them somewhere reputable. I'm so cynical! Good luck Andy
  3. Jonathan, IMO it would be best to re-confirm orders when you have the final prices as some will drop out but others will fill the gaps. Andy
  4. Hello Jonathan, could you please update us with what's happening on the canister front? You got the quote in April, but you haven't posted the cost yet. Did you order any, and if so do you know when they should be ready for delivery? Cheers Andy

    Fuel in France

Below is an extract from the BBC news website. The RAC is discouraging UK drivers from taking extra fuel supplies over to France. Aside from the safety risks, authorities only allow drivers to carry an additional 10 litres of fuel with them upon entering French territory. Also, most ferry operators do not permit the carrying of any additional fuel in cans, the motoring body says. Earlier this week, the AA reported taking calls from motorists who had run out of fuel in France. It is advising people to fill up before crossing the Channel. Shell says it has seen an increase in demand at its petrol station on the M20, near Folkestone, while BP says it has not seen any rise in demand for fuel, with usual deliveries scheduled for stations in Kent. Can drivers carry extra fuel across to France? The transport of petrol cans onboard Brittany Ferries' ships is forbidden. The transport of diesel in vehicles is only permitted in containers or jerrycans specifically constructed for the carriage of diesel and to a maximum of 5 litres per vehicle. Fuel cans must not be brought on board DFDS Seaways ferries. P&O Ferries said on Twitter that passengers were now able to bring five litres of spare fuel on board, provided it was in an "approved container". Eurotunnel allows up to 30 litres of fuel to be driven over, depending on the type of container. Some parts of France have restrictions on carrying fuel. Hope this helps.
  6. Hello Jonathan, It's been a couple of weeks since you got the quote, any progress on prices and delivery yet? Andy
  7. Hello Jonathan, do you have a time frame for delivery? Andy
  8. The oil and fuel will be fine, just run it. The only problems might be when an engine has been stood for extended periods (like more than a year) where condensation in the engine could contaminate the oil and aid rust/corrosion on the bores etc. and this depends on how and where it's been kept.
  9. Thanks Neil, money transferred to your account.
  10. I'm looking for Shower Cap to fit a S3 metric chassis with standard roll bar. I don't want to splash out on a new one as I intend to change the roll bar soon. Thanks Andy
  11. Hi Jonathan, Could you put me down for two tubes and one black bag please? (If I'm not too late!) Thanks Andy
  12. Just got this reply from Steffen, 500+ miles on the first day of owning a seven, and at least 400 of them at night!! ernteglueck 2:52 pm Hi there, I think I cannot write to the forum yet, therefore I sent a PM. I am the owner of the car you met. Sorry we had so little time for a longer chat. Anyway enjoyed very much talking to you. Car went fine for the whole journey. We did 500+ miles on Wednesday without issues. Still comfortable and a bit cold in the back, but still much better than I expected. Always have a save trip with your Roadsport too. Cheers Steffen
  13. Just spotted #152 Red Superlight on the Dunkerque ferry. Spoke briefly to the owner and he'd just bought it today, he was a very happy bunny.
  14. I've recently bought a seven after owning one in the 80's and 90's and also thought I knew exactly what I wanted and had my 'list'. My advice (for what it's worth) is to look at lots of cars, even those not necessarily 'on your list' and talk to as many people as possible. The seven world is very small and dealers survive on their reputation so it's not necessarily like buying a normal car. I hope you find something.
  15. Hi David, I like the idea of switching to the red light, I suppose I could then say its a military spec car. Thanks
  16. I'm a new owner of a S3 1.6 Sigma Roadsport (2010). Is it possible to reduce the brightness of the blue full beam indicator light in any other way than sticking a blob of something on top of it on the tacho glass or Is the light removable so that I can dab a bit of lacquer on it, or can it be changed for a dimmer one? Any advice welcome.
