The gauge had stopped working (pointer well to the left of the dial , back light works in the dial.) Checked the connections all seems well , could the sensor have failed. If so how do you test it. Many thanks in advance.
The release bearing disintegrated. The debris picked up and damaged the pressure plate housing. Damaged the slave cylinder housing . This then eroded the aluminum bell housing sump plate .Hence the engine oil on the deck. Thanks to Severn and Classics all back on the road and all on the warranty. Cannot thank them enough.I have some pictures but not sure how to attach to message .
Its definitely engine oil didn't appear till engine stopped. Continued dripping out for some time after engine stopped. Will report back after inspection.

Have started having a very slight grating feed back on clutch pedal as it's depress on start up. It then gives of a slight high frequency squeal as the pedal is held down. No problems changing gear it tends to become hardly noticeable after it warms up. Any ideas, Malcolm
I'm not sure this would help, but I use the ACF-50 spray, far better than wd 40 . Its worth using it on various areas in the present road/ weather conditions. All weather Bikers swear by it. Available on ebay
