  1. The battery is a Powervamp 25 and been using a CTEK trickle charger on it I’m going to check voltages today on the battery and see if it starts now it’s been run for 40 mins yesterday. Seam to get mixed information on fuel I’ve read fill tank to stop condensation in the tank before storing.

Hi all ive not been using my car for about 4 months thought i would go today and give it a turn over the battery has been on a trickle charger and it read on the charger it was in good health but it wouldnt turn it over so presume this will be a new battery. As it is a racing battery do i need the same or is there an alternative for my car ? Also would like to know whats the best thing to do about the fuel in the car when leaving it for so many months, full tank, empty tank use a additive not sure.

  5. Hi just wondering what is the household cleaner that I’ve herd people using on the exhaust to get a nice shine I know you still have to use autosol as well.
  6. Hi , Has anybody fitted an accelerator stop to stop the cable stretching and snapping to a K series pedal box. Did a track day at Rockingham and was to heavy footed on the straight and snapped. pictures and advise much appreciated. Gavin.

  10. Also if i made a bracket to hold the new mini rail attached to the threaded bar and fastened it to the body work would that not act as a earth ? im sure the wire to the gauge is a single one but not sure will have to check.

  12. Thanks Stu what's the threaded rod on the top of it for can you bolt it to something or make a bracket ? Why do you think it didn't do it before I had my exhaust changed ?
  13. Spot on Stu the car was in for tracking being checked after i changed the track rods so asked him if he would have a look at what was going on with his heat gun. After 2 hours of checking temps he said the penny finally dropped temp at sensor 120deg temp at pipe coming into rail 57deg so he fitted a heat deflector and sure enough temp at sensor 73deg. never done this before but i had a decat pipe put on when it was refurbished and the problem has been since then it did have air locks but sorted them after they had refilled it. i can only think that the new primaries are a bit closer to the sensor or my mechanic said my old primaries could of been coated think he said ceramic coated internally. do you think it might be an idea to get them heat wrapped. seams to be behaving at the moment but will see how it goes.
  14. thanks for the advise how do you know if the cap is working correctly and if its not will it cause this problem ? i have taken the bolt out twice and had to top the top of the radiator up but where does it keep going.
  15. How did you find out it was the head gasket can you test it somehow or do you have to take the head off to check ?

  18. i will check the fan wires but i can usually here the fan coming on so when it creeps up to the 100 or above im listening for it i feel it needs to kick in earlier. so why does it kick in sometimes but not always it it that the thermostat is shutting i would of thought on a long run it would be open all the time ?
  19. think the thermostat opening is 82deg and yes i did test it before i put it in and drilled the hole in it to allow air bubble to pass
  20. comma x stream G30 how do you short out the fan sensor bridge it i presume the fan runs in the correct direction as it does cool down when it comes on how can you reverse it any way yes it is the original cap level in tank between max and min

Im at my wits end with this. car runs around 85deg when stationary creeps up to 95deg fan comes on but sometimes i will stop at the lights and it will creep up to the 100 mark or slightly more no fan but then sometime might come on and cools down. ive put new fan switch, sensor on and had a new thermostat not so long ago. i think ive got rid off all air locks as thermostat seams to open when i let it tick over in garage and fan comes on and off seams to be when i go out in the car for a long run. could it be the gauge or sensor for the gauge at fault. also when i came back off a run today noticed the expansion tank was quite high when i went out it was between min and max is it a faulty expansion cap that is causing it.
  22. yes it is affected by light pressure on the brake pedal and not tried it on stands. i put new pads on went away for a bit but came back again supose it could be a warped disc.
