  1. What about making spacers from wood as a mock up,a la Morgan
  2. The "correct" bracket has arrived but as I feared is the same as the original one on the car. However in the mean time I have fashioned a small bracket that bolts onto the original bracket and positions the sensor nearer to the toothed wheel and allows me to see the LED s for setting up and leaves enough thread on the sensor to tighten both locknuts.
  3. New bracket arrived so tried to fit the new sensor but found the bracket would not allow me to fit the anti roll bar drop link.Spoke to Caterham who told me I had the wrong bracket. After arguing that it was the one from their web site I was told that the bracket is listed under anti roll bar fittings NOT wheel sensor bracket, the logic of that was lost on me.However I have now got the "correct" bracket coming but I fear it may be the same as the one I originally started with.If it is I fear a bodge coming g on.
  4. Yes bracket is for my 2015 supersport R Series 3
  5. Have just tried to fit one of the new sensors, had to remove the bracket to drill out a larger dia. Hole to take the adaptor. Also after fitting to the car realised I needed the later bracket to get the sensor closer to the toothed wheel,so am now waiting for that to arrive.
  6. See post below re wheel sensor.
  7. I had R clips on my calipers but they have come out on two separate occasions so am now using split pins instead.I suspect that may have been why your pad retaining pins have been wire locked.

    Wheel sensor

Just fitted the wheel sensor however I'm not happy with it.To get the required gap between sensor and trigger wheel the sensor has to be screwed so far into the plastic plug that I had to wind it in using the cable because there was no metal left .Also because it goes in so far I can't see any glow from the LED to set it up and I had to put the locknut on the ring side and was unable to tighten it to my satisfaction.I have looked on CC parts list and it looks like the bracket they use now is different to the one on my car (2015 supersport ).I have just ordered the updated bracket and hope that sorts it.

    Wheel sensor

Thanks Pete I did not think there wasn't,t much room for 2 locknuts.I saw the 4 holes but couldn't see how I was going to see them when the sensor was fitted as they are inside the plastic plug, but if as you say there is a glow at the wire /sensor joint that will make setting up easier. PS did you use the supplied crinkle washer? Thanks again for your help. Dave

    Wheel sensor

I was having trouble with my speedo so have bought a replacement wheel sensor from CC .I recall seeing a diagram on here of the nut positions for fitting, does anyone know how it goes. PS I have the latest earth mod and the speedo works fine up to 85mph.
  12. I have the same problem with the belts being too long.I noticed there was a hole in the carpet on the panel side the same as in your photo and wondered of there was a mounting point further back where this hole was.I explored with a small drilled hole and a piece of wire but could not find a threaded hole.I would be interested if you have any more luck.My car is a 2015 S3.
  13. I use a soft bits long nose shower cap when parked up and find it keeps the car dry inside even in the heaviest downpours.
  14. Hi Paul I am in Quedgeley Glos. Ring 07754951009 Regards Dave

    Brake fluid

Has anyone used Millers high performance racing fluid ?

    Brake fluid

I have been getting a long brake pedal when doing trackdays so am thinking of changing my standard dot 4 fluid to a racing dot 4 fluid.I was wondering what others are using. The car is a 360 R.
  18. Yes that is no problem.Where does the vent pipe vent too? Mine just dropped on the floor but I didn't fancy acidic water going under the car and possibly onto the chassis so I made up a small catch tank out of a plastic bottle, maybe over the top but belt and braces I thought.
  19. I had the exact same thing happen to my 2015 supersport R.One of the R clips came out and one of the brake pad retaining pins was hanging out.I replaced the pin and fitted a new R clip but like you I had a rattle from the pads which stopped when slight pressure was applied to the brake pedal. When I checked the brake assemblies on both sides I noticed that the side that did not rattle had a spring that pressed on the pads to stop them rattling. On the side that rattled this spring was missing, you can identify this spring because it has has a cut out in it in the shape of a direction arrow.I got in touch with a very helpful chap at AP racing and he sent me a couple of these springs and also some R clips.I fitted the new spring and new R clip and the rattle was gone. However on checking the pads a few weeks later I noticed one of the R clips was missing again but the spring was still there this time.I have now replaced all the R clips with split pins so there is no chance they can come out again.Have don't quite a few trackdays since and all is still good. Hope this helps
  20. Hi I check the oil warm after letting the oil settle for 30 seconds after switching off the engine.
  21. Hi I had the same problem checking the oil level, the answer is to remove the small o ring from the top of the dipstick then check the oil level in the normal way.replace the o ring when you have finished. With the o ring fitted the dipstick acts like a syringe plunger and pushes the oil down the dipstick tube. Combe

Thanks to all involved in organising the Combe trackday, and to Jon Vickers for the lunch vouchers much appreciated. My trackday insurerer would not cover me for Castle Combe as they deemed it too dangerous, but with a cautious start and building up the speed carefully I found it a fast but enjoyable track.
  23. Hi Phil I am in Gloucester.Am I correct in thinking it is a twin axle? Also it there a tyre rack on the trailer. Dave
