Hi I need to resurrect this because I am interested in being able to set the Cams . Previous replies suggested the Haynes manual will not cover this. Can anybody advise whether there are suitable instructions, or setting tools that will help with this? Thanks Malcolm

should say Left hand side Front wheel

Hi My new 310s SV has developed a rattle from the Left hand Side wheel which occurs when that wheel is disturbed eg going over bumps as the car is driven. If I do the same with my foot lightly on the brake pedal there is no rattle. At the weekend I investigated this and found nothing loose until I removed the wheel, then I noticed one of the brake pad retaining pins was partly disengaged because the R clip used to retain it was missing. I don't recall not fitting this and the car has been to Caterham for Post Build check and IVA test, and since done 2500 miles. Anyway now problems have resulted So now I have pushed the pin back through and fitted the R Clip, but the rattle is still there. I think it is the pads which are rattling, but only on the LHS. Any ideas to confirm the cause and fix the problem would be appreciated. Thanks Malcolm

Ive just checked the spark plugs and can confirm they are NGK LTR7IX-11 (6510) - Iridium IX Spark Plug / Sparkplug - Taper Cut Ground Electrode Ive checked the gap which is 1.0 mm Malcolm

Hi thanks for the replies, I can check spark plugs and will advise. i am happy to document the process when I do it but it won’t be very soon. My car is just 2 months old and 2000 miles. I am just planning ahead cheers Malcolm

ok thanks Is there anything I need to be wary of that Caterham have done which is not in the manual. I thought they had modified cams/timing? thanks Malcolm

Can anyone tell me which Haynes manual is best for service and maintenance of this Ford engine. i also want to be able to do timing belt changes myself, will this manual provide enough info much appreciated Malcolm
