Hi, I have an R400 Duratec and I am looking for more power. Having looked at various options I keep getting tempted by a supercharger. If you have had a supercharger kit bolted on: What set up did you choose? What did it cost? Would you do it again? What would you do differently? What do you wish you had known beforehand?I have been told there are problems in a Caterham with heat management when running a supercharger, what have your experiences been? Hi, I'm in the SE but don't mid travelling for a really good service. Who would you recommend for mapping a Duratec with Webber Alpha ECU? Thanks, Robert

According to the guys at Sevens&Classics there is no pressure sensor on the fuel rail of my car - duratec, (not sure about any other 7). The engine management system is the webcon alpha system and the tought was that it was reading pressure at the pump. Robert.

Update Went to Sevens and Classics today (04 Jan). They were brilliant as sorting out a few little things with the car, one of them being the issue with the fuel pump. Basically the fuel pump is running for about 6 seconds and then turning off. It's longer than normal but operating correctly. Thanks for all the help and advice. Robert

Update: Cleaned the car. Wiggled things, checked what electrical thingies I could see and liberally sprayed with WD40. Drove it till it was hot. Let it cool. Drove it again. Running smoothly again but so far won't stop priming once the ignition is switched on. Robert

Hi, I went for a long drive through Kielder and the Lake District and the car ran beautifully despite the cold, wet and salt. Next day and I have a problem with the fuel pump. It will not stop priming when the ignition is switched on. When I start the engine I can still hear the pump (couldn't before) and it runs quite roughly, needing a good bit of throttle otherwise it stalls. I'm guessing water has got into the electrics or there is a loose connection somewhere. I'd like to run the engine till its properly warm to 'dry' it out and / or 'attack' the engine bay with WD40 but not sure if I will damage something. As I'm pretty crap with mechanics and especially electrics I'd appreciate some direction. Its a raceline duratec with their management system. Thanks, Robert

Yes, "A bit Marmite" is the best description I have had so far. Really want to see them in the flesh as it were.

Thanks for all the suggestions. It's on a standard 55w bulb. I'm going to get the headlight alignment checked and try a higher powered bulb first. Robert

Hi, Just had the first night drive in my 7. The lights were very poor, I think a candle might have worked almost as well! What do you recommend to improve the headlights? Hi, I spoke to this company http://www.highlandcaterhamhire.co.uk/contact/ as they run their hire cars on winter tyres. Based on their advice I chose a set of 14" rims. I also chose Continental TS850 tyre as it was reviewed as 'best on wet roads', the most likely condition to experience in a British winter.
