  1. Sorry, I'm still struggling with this. The tunnel cover moves with a little encouragement, how do you get the handbrake lever vertical ? Major adjustment ? JonL how do you access the battery master switch terminals ? Mine are behind a panel that I can just about see behind, but can't remove or gat behind.
  2. Thank you for those replies. AndrewB those are the most useful photos that I have seen, next to the fuse box looks like a good mounting point. JonL I'll have a look at that, I want to use the socket to trickle charge the battery, so I guess I need to take the feed on the battery side.
  3. Is it better to have the negative lead earthed, then, or is it OK to connect it to the negative battery terminal ?
  4. I don't want to put a hole in the dash and got a socket that fits a motorcycle handlebar so I can fasten it around the fat bunch of wires ahead of the gearstick. I'm not really bothered about USB charging at the moment, I reckon a cigarette lighter will do for now. I can always change it later if needs be. I'll have a closer look at the tunnel but I don't want to force anything. Thanks.
  5. Can anyone help me save a bit of time on this as I have had the car out and back into the garage the times today because of heavy flash showers ? Been looking at this thread, which makes it sound very simple to do, http://www.lotus7.club/forum/techtalk/12v-socket-wiring-guidance-please it mentions two methods of getting the wires from the engine bay to the dash, firstly through a hole in the transmission tunnel in front of the gear lever. This appears to be where most of my electrics surface as there a fat bunch of cables appear just in front of the gearstick, however how does the transmission tunnel cover come off ? There don't appear to be any fixings, is it likely to be held with just Velcro ? Secondly, the thread mentions a hole in the bulkhead, any idea where this might be, because I can't find it despite contortions and torches ? Otherwise, I reckon I'm nearly there ! I bought a complete socket kit with fuse and plan to run it directly to the battery terminals.
  6. Just looking at this thread and noticed that it was recommended to press the disarm button several times. I have to press mine four times for the immobiliser to disarm. Is this normal ? If I set the immobiliser flashing rapidly I only need to press the disarm button once, but when it settles down to the slow flash I need to press it four times.
  7. Are there any pictures of these please ? None of the links at the start seem to work.
  8. Today, Friday, Bollo Lane, Chiswick. I was on foot and gave you the thumbs up. Noisy !
  9. "Brian and Robin's Christmas Compendium of Reason" For sale - 4 x tickets for Prof Brian Cox and Robin Ince at Hammersmith Apollo on Thursday 10th December. Finger trouble when booking means I have booked the wrong night in December ! DOH. This show is a live version of The Infinite Monkey Cage off Radio 4 which is billed as "an irreverent look at the world through scientists eyes". It is an evening of comedy, music and banter with some fun science thrown in. Last year featured Dara O'Briain, Nitin Sawhney, The Cure and an American physics professor (hot chick !) with her rapper husband. It was a hoot, I hope that gives you a flavour of the evening. I can't go on Thursday and have rebooked for the following night, hence I am trying to move these four tickets, they are really good seats, row M in the stalls, £30 each. Might be of interest to my Kent brethren ?
  10. About midday coming up to ASDA on the Maidstone Road I was behind you in the green SV. You were smoking a bit !

    Battery charging

I had an Optimate dry out my bike battery a few years ago. It was a VERY hot summer, though.
