  1. Mine (RiF) is the same...worried about it when I first fitted, not a polisher so haven't given it a second thought since. Too busy screaming from enjoyment
  2. Quoting Jonathan Kay: Andy's sump Jonathan Edited by - Jonathan Kay on 31 Aug 2014 09:19:55 Doesn't look that much different (clearance) to mine...
  3. Probably cheaper to make your own 'modifications' to the speed humps late one night than the cost of repairing the bellhousing I have caught the ali guard in front of the bellhousing - once at speed on a bumpy back road and another couple of times at snails pace going over stupidly officious speed bumps. Made me cringe every time but so far (touch wood), cosmetic damage only
  4. Quoting Rattie: Nah, 3rd through both hairpins, otherwise you'rescrabbling for grip and gears Smashing fun that track. Here's footage from our last session (just before lunch) Bedford Fast Laps I can see I still have plenty to learn - my R400 fast laps were only a few seconds quicker than yours...will try +1 higher gear strategy at the hairpins next time. I also see you only drop to 5th at the chicance in the middle of the long back straight, whereas I drop all the way to 4th...
  5. As above, mine came with a center (low stalk version) but I quickly found I didn't need it and it got in the way of the only gap in my RiF that I use to place the car
  6. Jonathan - yep, agreed that's the plan MrP - thanks! To be fair, all fairly minor troubles. Am loving the experience, not seeking perfection and still have silly smiles on my face when driving it Blat chat community a HUGE support resource as well which gives confidence that any issue, small or big can be sorted
  7. Quoting Jonathan Kay: Does that mean the seat was moving relative to the car... ? Jonathan Just tilting slightly forward under braking as the seat had no spacers between the bottom of the seat shell and the runners (the bolt goes through the spacers). Tiny amount of real world movement but obviously feels more when you are in the seat (and overly sensitive to it as you know one side is loose)
  8. Relay replaced (thanks Redline Components) and no recurrence so fingers crossed just a dicky orignal one
  9. Quoting Grubbster: I think it is the allen headed bolt that goes upwards into the tillet (not down through the floor) so needs to be able to turn it ☹️ Yep, that is the one. Did a few more runs (6 point harness) and no further issues (other than an unnerving amount of movement that while small, was certainly interesting with 6th to 2nd hairpin braking zones... My 'support' vehicle needed to get back so we called it a day with an hour and a bit remaining...I feel like I have had some good track time this past week so no feeling to push on for another couple of sessions and potentially have other issues. Thanks for the replies, will review the seat mounting at my leisure and reflect on my first rain storm aeroscreen experience on the way home that was...refreshing to say the least Thanks to Paul Croll trackside as well for his advice and the R300 couple that were there as well (sorry didn't get a name)
  10. I am going to carry on...other mountings seem tight and there is a little movement elsewhere and the belts will hold me should anything happen and give me a chance to sort at a later date. Am going to see what I can do in terms of getting the bolt into the seat beforehand... Thanks for quick responses - hugely appreciated.
  11. Think the issue is no axle stands - I only have trolley jack and don't want to work under the car using only that (ignoring the fact I am a numpty and taking seats out is quite ambitious for me...) Frustratingly all I need is a short length Allan key and might be able to get to it but all mine are too long. Anyone know the cap head size by any chance?

  13. Hi, One of the tillet mountings into the runner has come loose so I am currently staring at 4 tillet plastic spacers and a loose bolt spinning inside the runner. Looks like a seat out job as not sure I have the tools to fix trackside (not enough space to Allen key the bolt to the seat and not sure I am up for removing the seat and runners completely). Question is...safe to run with only 3 secure mounting points to the runners for the remainder of the track day? Thanks Matthew Edited by - Silverback on 23 Aug 2014 12:54:33 Edited by - Silverback on 23 Aug 2014 16:51:53
  14. YHBM re: hood roll bag Thanks Matthew
  15. Quoting Ray Pearce: I'm guessing he has the new style push buttons rather than the usual old rocker and toggle switches. So the "work the hazard switch a dozen times to clean the contacts" trick won't make any sense. Yep, that's the ones...as others have suggested, will replace the relay as a first step and then go from there
  16. Yep, when they go, no amount of cycling the buttons or ignition on/off will bring them back to flashing life. New relay ordered from redline and in the meantime trying randomness assessment of the fuses to work out which one is for what (future reference) - my layout has no resemblance to any printed manuals!
  17. Quoting nickh7: I would think the relay has worked loose , did you use some kerb last night Seemed pretty snug and they were working again first thing this morning without changing anything. I wonder if heat related as the heater valve was open and I noticed the passenger side vent is blowing directly at the fuse and relay panel (grasping at straws here). CC are out of stock so will soldier on and replace when they are available to see if that is the issue
  18. Quoting SM25T: Check flasher unit plugged in ..... they do work loose. In rail by fuses. Will do
  19. Mine is the Superlight button layout...spray what where?
  20. While running on track this evening, the indicators stopped working. When the button was pressed, they would illuminate but not flash (both sides the same and hazards the same as well). Daniel had a look at fuses for me but all seemed ok. Strangely after about an hour they started working again, only to stop once more about a mile from home. Loose wiring, connector perhaps? Any starting points to investigate hugely appreciated! (Duratec R400) Matthew Edited by - Silverback on 23 Aug 2014 16:54:52
  21. Quoting mav: one thing at a time otherwise if you change 2 or 3 things and it solves the problem you won't know which one fixed it / was at fault... Yep, if I get time I am planning an A1M run for a few junctions (aero) and then come back to change wheels and do the same again.
  22. Yes, have tried/checked all the obvious things. Saturday M25 was fine, today wasn't. Will try aero tomorrow and on a different set of wheels/tyres to see if I can replicate...
  23. Worst steering judder at 50mph+ motorway speeds this evening. Can't figure out what it can be as motorway journey a few days ago didn't seem to have any issues. The only difference I can think of was I was driving with half hood on tonight. Am I going mad or could the at-speed buffeting of the half hood be the issue - it has some billowing/slack going (no matter how much I tighten the straps) and seemed to be juddering at the same frequency of the steering. The juddering also seemed to come and go without any major change in road surface or speed. Anyone else had the same?! Have gone aero now so can test the difference tomorrow at some point.
  24. So to close this thread off, before tightening up there appeared to be a small amount of vertical play that could be brought about. Having tightened them up nicely (can someone tell me why I wouldn't use threadlock if this is something they all do?) I can't seem to feel any of the same vibrations that I was experiencing previously. Now that might be misperception, coincidence or related but for now I am not getting that same level of speed judder I did previously.
