I am selling my 165hp EU3 K series engine - just removed from my 2005 1.8 Roadsport as I have sold the car with the original factory engine & and will 'drop in' like for like (which is what I did) engine has done approx 24,000 miles (not all with the tune) and the 'add ons' were put on at around 14,000 miles. Its the DVA K04 bolt on kit with Jenvey DTH throttle bodies, Piper fast road cams (633 grind) Emerald K3 ECU, Vernier cam pulleys & a Bernard Scouse airbox, Dave Walker mapped it at 165hp & 7000 rpm. Emerald has 3 maps (mot, fast road and track) and is switchable and remember you wont need to mess about with expensive mapping sessions. Only selling as I am upgrading the car. The engine was Grubbsters and I bought it off him who had it in his car from new - light road use and a few trackdays - it pulls really well and will give R300 performance in a S3 Caterham. Nothing wrong with it - last trackday was in February at Brands - I have done the Head Gasket this Janauary as well. Clutch is present as is an anti cav tank. It has its own loom. Its ready to drop in and enjoy and has been totally reliable. £1800 located Isle of Wight

I fitted the Raceco that I purchased from Martyn and there is a noticeable difference as you would expect . Going to buy a sound metre to try and put some numbers on it but the induction at 4000rpm is savage. So airbox next - any advances on the Scouse type ? I wad looking at the DT Db slayer as well and thinking that maybe useful to have in the kit for a TD - how does that fit on the flared exit Delbert ?

Thanks for the info chaps - seems there maybe a bit of trial and error here - don't mind loosing a bit of power - a load of us from the Island normally hire Goodwood once a year so thats my major concern but even Brands were 'on it' when we went in February. Maybe some trial and error and I think if I can lay my hands on a used rear exit system as well it will be another feather in the cap - Titanium YHM re the Raceco - thanks Jai

Ok thats what I want to hear them - I have a scouse on my current car but that is on jenveys - your car looked good but i did not want to pay 7s and C £2.5 k more than you were selling it for so I bought another one ! - how much do you want for the exhaust and will you courier it ?

yes Raceco is mentioned but what sort of reduction is realistic ? the car is around 105db now so fit for fuc all really - i need less than 100 db and dare I say it a day at Goodwood (falls over laughing whilst still consuming last glass from current bottle) would be nice ... You had that on the green car ? what air box did you run ?

I have had a looksey on here and the topic seems to be covered to a point but practically how low can I expect to get ? I am interested in opinions and the set ups that other owners have and specific facts about what parts (induction or exhaust ) will make significant noise reductions. I wish to track the car and would like to know what experiences others have had ? thanks Jai

My car is for sale - had this car since it was 2 years old and has been fantastic, very reliable, metallic blue, weather gear, Freestyle (avo) suspension, R888 tyres, high mileage at 52k(ish) I am not a polisher and there are lots of stonechips but this is a good honest car nd is for sale as I want R400/R500 cheapest around at £12500 - Isle of Wight based - car is well known with Wight7s.

The car looks the business - its a shame I am looking for a R400/R500 right now - I have decided to upgrade the (highest mileage ) Roadsport this year.

thanks for the link JK but no it would appear a din type plug is required - I have an emerald lead with the connectors as shown - the unti is on a x flow engined late 1980s car and is unlike anything I have seen - just trying to help out a friend who has aquired the car recently but is not on here yet

On behalf of a friend whose xflow we are trying to get statrted ... Hi has anyone got a wiring diagram for a 2002 emerald M3D ecu comms lead please? Serial one end 5 pin din the ecu end.... any inof particularly wiring info as requested would be appreciated
