News articles from the Caterham and Lotus Seven Club community
    Shaun_E
Monday saw the running of the clubs second "novices track day" this time at Rockingham circuit near Northamptonshire. After a popular and successful event last year at Donington Park, the club chose the slightly more southerly Rockingham circuit to host this day full of classroom briefing, instruction from several qualified ARDS instructors and plenty of track time. Participants seemed to have enjoyed themselves:

Brilliant format, excellent instruction, loads of time on track. Massively exceeded my expectations and a truly memorable day.

A great day. Many thanks to all the organisers and instructors.
Looking forward to the next one.
There are more club track days confirmed including Brands Hatch Grand Prix and Blyton Park in the next month and bookings will soon open for Cadwell Park and Oulton Park. For full details of the club's track day program take a look here: https://www.lotus7.club/trackdays

    Challenge 2018

    By Comp Sec, in Lotus,

With ever more speed camera's on the road, do any of us truly get chance to find out how good a driver we are ?
Can you stand alongside the other Motorsport Legends who have had Lotus Sevens , Colin Chapman, Edward Lewis, Graham Hill, Jackie Stewart, Eddie Irvine,Sir Chris Hoy, Nikki Lauda, to name a few in a car which was once dubbed as "Too Fast to Race".
Regardless of what specification Lotus Seven or Caterham Seven you have, if your experienced or total novice why not challenge yourself against the clock, against others in similar performance cars.
11 Sprints and 5 Hills spread over most of England and Wales, with a friendly and welcoming group of Lotus Seven Friends old and new.
Not just for speed junkies but for men and women of all ages. Our fun little cars are often perceived as a boy's toys but we all just know that they are part of the family..
So why not make it a family adventure, we welcome dual drives, and have seen every combination you can imagine, Mum & Daughter, Father & Son, Brothers, Mum & Son, Dad & Daughter, or even just good friends....
If fact for the ladies who want to take part and be an inspiration to the next generation, then why not join Dare to be Different   and enjoy a great discount to our events this year.
So this Christmas why not talk about something different, push the boundaries and why not give it a go and enter in 2018, Northampton Motorsport Lotus Seven Club Speed Championship.
The championship regulations and link to the entry form is available here
All the entry forms will be available on the Event Page here
If you have any questions or queries please feel free to ask, we don't bite.

Entry fee to the championship is a very modest £25 or for those novices registered in the Dare to be Different campaign only £10. The Dare to be Different campaign is focused on promoting opportunity for ladies in all aspects of motorsport.
The Curborough events are open to both Championship competitors as well as all Club members, entry fee is £100 per competitor or, if a novice registered with Dare to be Different this is discounted to just £25.

    Calendar Competition 2018

    By Mcalvert, in Lowflying,

Photo Competition - Club Calendar 2018
Time is running out to submit photos for consideration for our 2018 Club calendar which will be sent out to all members with December’s Lowflying.
We are looking to feature members’ own photos to illustrate each month.  Not only is this your chance to have your photographs immortalised in print, and hanging on members’ walls around the world, but those whose shots get selected for use will be rewarded with prizes selected from the Club’s regalia range.
We always receive a fantastic range of photographs for the calendar, and we are once again going to retain the general theme for the photo competition as “Lotus 7 Club Life”.  This could include themes of touring, Club events, track days, cars – the only real limit is your imagination.  With many events marking 60 years of our favourite car, there should be plenty of opportunities to capture great shots too… A short caption for each picture submitted would be appreciated, as any photo not used on the calendar may well be chosen to appear in Lowflying at a later date.
PLEASE NOTE: Because of the calendar’s layout, pictures will need to be in landscape format.  Please also make sure that files are of a high enough resolution to allow good quality reproduction.
Please send entries to lowflying@lotus7.club with a single picture and caption per email.  A maximum of five pictures is allowed per person and  membership number.
Please mark all entries with the subject title “Club Calendar 2018 Photo Competition”.  Submissions should include your name, phone number and Club membership number.
12 entries will be selected for the calendar, and the following prizes will be on offer:
1st Prize of a Lotus 7 Club Micro Fleece Jacket
2nd Prize of a Lotus 7 Club polo shirt (men’s or ladies’)
The remaining selected entrants will receive a t-shirt from the Club’s regalia range.
See Lowflying for full Terms and Conditions of entry.
