julians Posted February 18, 2006 Share Posted February 18, 2006 Got a recurring problem with the engine mounts on my car. Its zetec engined and it uses the raceline mounts. Problem is the left hand side mount always eventually cracks after a year or so. It cracks at the weld where the square section tubing meets the bracket that bolts to the engine. Its not a major problem to replace, but I was wondering if anyone else suffers the same problem, or whether anyone has any ideas what might be causing it. I'm onto the 4th replacement in 5 years. The car has a fairly hard life, being used mostly for trackdays, engine is probably putting out around 200bhp, and its driving through a regular AP clutch to a quaife straightcut type 9 box.
