martinray
I'm looking for advice - my cooling fan won't kicki-in. Its an ECU controlled fan (on R500). The fan works fine directly wired. I have checked the fuse and changed the relay. I just ran it up to 90 degress - but it won't start (I htink it should start at 87 degrees). Any ideas on what to check next? Phil Bishop
Start engine. Allow to warm to appropriate temperature. Hit top of radiator with bloody big spanner. If no result, seek further advice.
PAUL MARRIOTT
Martin Sorry if you've checked it but how are you measuring 90 deg, given the lack of accuracy you might not have achieved switch on temp. If you are near LB drop in and I can test the temps for you- I've got a good surface temp reader and can read directly of the rad to check actual temp at the switch. Paul M. martinray
Hi Paul, thanks for the offer - I'm away this weekend but may take you up one evening next week (can I have your phone no offline). I'm measuring the temperature on my Stack - now I think about it this could have a seperate sensor to the ECU - does anyone know the answer to this? I'll also run it to a higher temp as you suggest.
