captain chaos
Whats the ideal temp for a tuned Vx to be running at. I now have a temp sensor as part of my DTA which i can plug into for live readings and also my mega accurate caterham temp guage . I've also fitted a Radtec triple core rad and a 70 deg stat which replaced a faulty 92deg one. It all seems to be running a fair bit cooler now than before, albeit we're not properly in the summer yet and it's not been tracked, but what is the ideal that i am aiming for? EFA
82 deg - up to 88 when you thrash it. Oil temp in a VX should not exceed 130 deg in the crankcase unless somethings not right.

Marius
I can second that, never reached more than 88°C on track, no matter how hard/long you drive it. Measured with Stack, both oil & water. Drysumped Caterham.
I reply to every thread
Marius - just out of interest - I can't get an oil temp higher than 85 degrees with your old system no matter how hard I try
