jono Posted May 17, 2005 Share Posted May 17, 2005 my 96 de-dion has an annoying habit. Sometimes the indicators work and vice versa. When they don't work the hazards will so must be something to do with the switch?? They will just start working again for apparent reason. Normans_Ghost Posted May 17, 2005 Share Posted May 17, 2005 Try flicking the hazard switch on/off 10-20 times. The contacts corrode and need "cleaning". If not it could be the flasher unit which, on some if not all cars, is seperate from the hazard unit. Chris W Posted May 17, 2005 Share Posted May 17, 2005 It can't be the flasher unit because, contrary to what Norman said (sorry Norman), the flasher unit IS common to both the indicators and the hazard switch. I would also hazard a guess it's the hazard switch - they are rather notorious for causing this kind of problem.
