Wheel Studs

Recommended Posts

I fitted M12 x 1.5 Ford competition type wheel studs and open wheel nuts to my Locust all round. They replaced the 3/8" UNF Triumph Spitfire items (car was based on full Spitfire running gear).

I seem to remember I had to separate the brake rotors from the front hubs due to fitting longer studs i.e. they don't go round corners. It may also take a bit of jiggling around the brake back plates on the rears for the same reason but it was easier to remove the adjuster or the cylinder on the Triumph brake and wiggle the stud through the hole rather than removing the hub casting from the half shaft. Ital axle may be different though.

Definitely do-able. I did it!
