Where's the best place to get a bung for the additional lambda probe boss on my new exhaust?

 

Or should I just find a bolt of the right thread and cut it to a suitable length? I seem to recall seeing ones with nice shallow heads in the past.

I know Raceline in Surrey have them as I got a stainless steel one from them only last week. 01483-811978

i think a short term measure is a spark plug as some are the same thread

Pinto spark plug is usually the right size, cut one down, remove the innards and get a hex bolt welded into it for a plug that wont come out (or drop into the pipe)

My 4:2:1 exhaust from Caterham came with a "bung" as standard. So maybe ask Caterham, or Cheesemans or indeed anyone who makes exhausts.

the problem with the one's that normally come fitted are that they are just a plug, they have no sealing face apart from the threads, replacing the plug with a bolt type of fitting gives something to tighten the threads against to stop it falling out or into the hole.

(just my humble opinion)
