PooPoo
Ive just realised that you can simply un- plug your speedo..........hence not add any mileage to your car. Im shocked that its that easy to do.... How the hell do i know my mileage is genuine? The answer is i dont and no way can i prove otherwise. There must be a way CC can prevent this? Any suggestions? Normans_Ghost
No difference to undoing a speedo cable. Or winding back a mech speedo. Or having a SPA digital speedo that now reads 656769 (went FF* some time ago) Or .... can't think of anymoer, but someone will * computer talk for 65536 Norman Verona, 1989 BDR 220bhp, Mem No 2166, the full story here
KevSull Too
* computer talk for 65536 You obviously mean 65535. 65536 would be 10000 in Hex. 😬You laugh at me because I'm different, I laugh at you because you're all the same. 😬
Mad7ner
Its as simple as wiring in a switch How else would we keep to the limited mileage per year. The only downside to undoing speedo cables is that you have to guess your speed unlike if you have got the digital speedo, just flick the switch before the speed camera to check the speed. but, like you have already said its very hard to tell if a cars been clocked or speedo disconnected
LazerBrain
How about my speedo that notches up 10% more miles than I actually do, due to it's inaccuracy? (I haven't tested this yet against the odometer yet, but the speedo is out when compared against GPS.) cheers, Darren.
davef
If the speedo is out by 10% then the odometer will be as well ☹️ Mine appears to overead by 10-11% as well. Dave
