Jleclainche
I believe the 711M block was first manufactured in late 1970- I had one in my Ford Escort Mexico Mk1. For a lot more details on the 711M and other blocks, see here: http://www.lotus-cortina.com/library/block/blocks.htm JLC in San Diego
rj
JLC: Many thanks! Bengt: I need to be sure that the engine started life in a Caterham. I'm currently fighting Customs and Excise And if the engine has been supplied second hand, the situation changes. /regin
JampJ
If you need the year of your engine, and it has a genuine number stamped on it, you can find the year on page 12 of the Burton catalogue. They're on 020 8554 2281,and it's free! Contains lots of useful info. If you put your engine number on here, I'll give you the year.
