Area Representative Steve Wright Posted October 14, 2004 Area Representative Share Posted October 14, 2004 1996 K-Series Road Spec car - I am replacing the original 3/8" Anti Roll Bar with 1/2" I've received the new ARB from CC and now wondering whether I should have ordered new balls and bushes. What are the chances of getting the old ones transferred without damage? visit Carrotland.co.uk
Jason Plato
The old balls should screw off OK so long as they have been kept greased up . However , I find that the bals flatten very quickley resulting in play in the mount . I tend to replace my balls every season - they are cheap from caterham . Chelspeed
Even more important if you are planning to swop from one to another and back regularly. Usually done for say red for dry weather and orange for wet, then it's much easier and quicker to have both bars ready to fit, ie with studs, balls, plastic covers, bushes and mounting clamps prefitted. Then just unbolt one and bolt in the other.
