Bloody De-dion tube failure at the shock mounting point

I think I know the answer but are they safe to weld back up, or do I bite the bullet and get a new one

Not a happy chappy ☹️

Pulled mine in bits today and the mounting bolts were bloody tight .............

on closer inspection the failure`s not at the weld but the actual metal of the tube itself, about half way round, didn`t fancy the idea of welding all that and the other side`s weld was looking very "iffy" with the start of a crack appearing in that side.

Glad I hadn`t been giving it lots when it went though, quite a frightening thought .........
