  1. Wile7, Thanks for posting that link. My friend (Andrew) has finally got back to me regarding a price, and has said that he was told by the builder (John Village, I guess), that he shouldn't accept less than £2k. I guess that link backs up this kind of price. For those people that have contacted me, I have passed on your details to Andrew, so I hope he'll get in touch with you all, soon. Thanks, Adam.
  2. I don't think he really knows. If you want me to pass on your details so you can talk to him directly, drop me an email. Thanks, Adam
  3. Hi, Posting this on behalf of a friend whose father won this in a raffle, and isn't quite sure what to do with it. Here is a photo of the actual car, or the manufacturer's web site is here. Details are (as described by my friend): Sonic Super 7 Childs Sports Car Based on the Lotus 7 Suitable for aged 5 –12 year old Honda 160cc 5.5 horsepower engine Dry cell battery Steel space frame chassis construction with built in roll over bar Powerful Hydraulic brakes 4 point harness seat belts Adjustable pedal assembly Governable top speed All engine and moving parts fully enclosed About 7 years old I think. It's currently in Northampton. Anyone interested at all? Thanks, Adam.
  4. Parts arrived today, but CC sent me the 'inner' sleeve for the top and bottom ends of the damper, not both sleeves for the bottom end, as I'd asked for. Just been on to them, and apparently they don't actually stock that item - they are just supplied as part of a Bilstein damper, complete with bush, etc. They don't even stock replacement bush kits, as it seems the bushes outlive the dampers themselves! Anyway, have just phoned AVO, and they can supply the bushes and sleeves, so fingers crossed, I'll get the right parts just in time for the weekend. Cheers, Adam. 5. Ah, OK, thanks. I've just ordered them, so we'll see what we get. Oh, and I also checked the ARB gaitors last night, and actually you could well be right that they are the same, and standard Caterham items. It's just that the ARB itself is different each end, and so the covers are stretched differently, so look different. Hopefully I can get the stanard items to fit adequately! Cheers, Adam.
  6. Thanks, Graham! OK, that's good to know about the sleeve. I wasn't sure whether the outside diameter would be the same, but I guess they won't be too expensive to give a try, anyway. I'll give them a call tomorrow. I have a feeling the gaitors aren't quite the same as Caterham use - They're different each end, anyway, so at least one of them won't be. But again, they can't be too expensive, so I guess I could give them a shot and see if I can somehow get them to fit, with generous use of cable ties... Cheers! Adam.
  7. I appear to have a bit of a problem (but admittedly not quite as big as Gary's appears to be). My Seven is due it's MoT, and while fixing the lower spherical joint on the front suspension, I found that the lower damper mounting bolt (in the lower wishbone) had sheared! Anyway. managed to get the broken bit of bolt out, but only by cutting up the bush and metal sleeves. 'No problem', I thought, 'I'll get replacements from Freestyle'. Except I couldn't get hold of Gary, and I've just read on here that a unit next to his has burnt down and he appears to be unable to continue trading at the moment! So anyone got any suggestions where I can get the concentric metal sleeves used in the Freestyle 'Avo' dampers and bushes Are the sleeves standard Caterham fit? I also have the Freestyle front adjustable ARB, and the rubber gaitors on that are also unlikely to get approval from the MoT tester. Any suggestions on where to get new ones of those from, too? Much appreciated. Adam.
  8. Jon, Weeellllll....I only ordered 80 boards (40-sets) as I didn't know how many people would be interested. And I'm afraid I've got takers for all the spare ones (subject to people changing their minds), as I want to keep a few back to experiment with making indicators, too. However, if enough people want more (and I have had a few other queries), then I may get another batch of boards made, as long as it's enough to make it cost effective. If you're interested, send me you details and I'll add you to my list, in case I do have some spare ones (or for the next batch). FYI, I'm using 4-pin 'Superflux' 120 degree LEDs. Pretty bright, and good wide beam. If you're happy to make up your own, then it'd same me a lot of the time it takes to make them up! However....given a few posts on this thread...I must say 🙅🏻‍♂️ "use at your own risk!" Adam.
  9. Hmm, interesting. Do the bulbs really get an 'E' mark? The lens I can understand... I've also easily passed an MoT with my boards installed, without a second glance. It would really be a shame if improving the woefully inadequate standrd trailer lights in this way was going to cause anyone problems. It means you've got more chance of actually being seen, which can only be a good thing, IMHO. Thanks for the comment on my boards, Johnty. Strictly speaking, you don't need to solder to fit them - it's just that you were assembling your own! :-) Adam.
  10. You've got another interested person here... Thanks, Adam.
  11. I'm in the same position as Mav, in that I am also now unable to attend. I have two trade tickets for Friday 14th, but these _do_ include the live action arena. Obviously time is now short, but hopefully first class post will still be able to get them somewhere in time... Adam.
  12. Happy Birthday! Want to come and get your present? L&K

Possibly. I know my nuts were already tight, though....

Just got an email from Simon Lambert. Seems Caterham think this is caused by loose damper bolts, stressing the tube....
