I'm midway through replacing the cut off switch wiring after a loose connection fried the alternator and as far as I can see there's (no laughing now) 2 thick wires and a little'un coming off the alternator, a thick'un and the little'un go to the cut off switch and the other thick'un disappears into the loom only to be joined to a load of other little'uns and another big'un which also makes it's way back to the cut off switch. It feels a bit like all the wires are joined together at some point and I admit to confusion - does it matter which of the terminals on the back of the alternator go where?!
