Pete
eric If you have a 711M block, hang on to it! It is generally reckoned to have been the strongest block in the cross flow series and is much sought after by the 'tuning brigade'. IIRC it was developed for the RS series of cars. regards pete
Peter T
Pete, i think you mean the AX block, the 711M is a good block but is not as thick as the AX versions which is why people prefer to over bore the AX oposed to the 711M, these were very common, the AX block not so. Pete
I thought that the AX blocks suffered from porosity?
Peter T
No not that i am aware, i have machined many an AX block and 711m, 69m and have never suffered porousity, cast iron is very stable, and ford casting was very good.
