Tony C
Just got back from an eventful blat. Noticed the coolant temp rising to the red segment while calmly cruising along the Tingewick bypass. Turned-out the plastic hose joiner in the top heater hose that passes behind my K-Series has broke. Called-out the friendly AA man and it was fixed in no time, but could only top-up the coolant with water - about 2 litres. I should drain-down and refill with the recommended coolant - shouldn't I? Or could I get away with draining the ditute coolant from the bottom somewhere and re-filling with the correct stuff at the expnsion bottle at the same time - thus replacing the dilute with full strength and avoiding any air locks - hope, hope 😬 BRG Brooklands SV 😬 It seems that perfection is achieved not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing more to take away. Peter Carmichael
There is a fair chance that there has been some overheating of the coolant. This diminishes the anti-corrosion additives package, so the entire coolant should be replaced as a matter of course.
