dave1968
I want to adjust my throttle cable in order to change the position of my accelerator pedal in relation to the brake pedal (currently my accelerator is too 'low' in relation to brake pedal making heel/toe extremely difficult if not impossible for me). One way would be to shorten the cable as this would achieve the desired effect (I presume like most cables they strech over time?). Whats sensible way to do this? Sheds Moderator
Assuming the nipples are fixed then you need a removable one from a bike/m bike shop. Alternatively cut the cable and fit an "adjuster" in the form of a "chocolate block" elec connector. Top tip - don't attempt to cut cable with pliers, it's too hard. Use a sharp cold chisel, you can use the (hardened) jaws of the vice as an anvil. The other option is bending the acc pedal itself.
warrent
Either... 1)Bend the throtle pedal.... 2)Adjust the Brake pedal back a bit..... or 3) move the throttle pedal forwards (assuming you have the three locations for the throttle pedal) Easy and Cheap 😬 Edited by - super7 on 9 Jun 2004 12:24:
Pelico
Someone correct me if I am wrong, but does not turning the square adjuster on the cable near the throttle body move the pedal up and down (it seems to do that on mine !!). I think that the build manual says this too My Caterham owner's site
MADMALC
Once the adjustment has been used up you can tie a knot in the cable at the accelerator end and then back off the adjuster thus extend the life of the cable, worked for me. S7MAD S7MAD
