Trolley Jack

Finally got fed-up scrabbling around under my 7 like a crab, with my face pressed against the floor pan, due to my "standard" trolley's inability to lift the car higher than the second hole up on the 3 Tonne Halfords axle stands.

 

Just tried out my new one: 2 Tonne, 120mm minimum, 490mm maximum. Low enough to slide under easily and lift the car high enough to use the top hole in the axles stands - fantastic.

 

I lifted the rear first via the centre boss on the De Dion, but had to remove the nose cone to access the front jacking point.

 

I got the trolley from Machine Mart: Model No. CTJ 2000G for £60 inclusive - if anyone's interested

Thanks for that! I will be getting one. My Dad was trying to buy me a £12 jack but I managed to politely hold him off knowing it would be pants! 🙆🏻

Yeah, don't skimp on jacks.

I have a low wide one and remove the cup for extra low cars.

The Machine Mart Clarke CTJ2LR is a good'un at 30 quid too - this has the lowest entry height (110mm) of the range, IIRC - and boy, do I need it...
