ianrm
Anyone know the best way to remove some unwanted stickers off the rear arches of a seven? I've got a couple of GB type stickers (you have to be careful where you drive in NI with them on!!) and I'd like to remove them but not take the paint off at the same time. Any recommendations? philwaters
Most will just peel off, but you could use some white spirit on a cotton bub or even a rag, and as you get an edge going, apply some WS to soften the glue... You may have a non-faded patch left behind though, but this will go next summer in the sun It depends on the colour, I think Yellow is the worst. ianrm
Sun in Northern Ireland, the only way we can tell summer's arrived is when the rain gets a bit warmer!!
Tonycaterham
Warming with a hairdryer can make them easier to peel off. If you haven't got a hairdryer ask a Porsche Boxster owner - they all have them! Tony

Rob Board
You can buy a rubber wheel that fits in the end of a drill, that will take off transfers. I think it is predominantley used by body shops to remove stick on side/pin stripes prior to spraying, and it will not damage the paintwork. A good body shop supplier should sell you one, and advise if it will do your larger stickers. If not I know Snap On do one for reasonable money. If you need the pattern number let me know. Cheers Rob.
GordonJackson
I have found that boiling water is pretty effective for most graphics and goes some way to taking the glue residue off as well.
Sheds Moderator
The rest of the glue comes off with car polish or (easier) household aerosol polish nicked from under the sink, sprayed on nice and thick, then scraped off with a plastic scraper. Wipe with rag for nice shine
MikeW
Warm gently with hair dryer and the stickers will peel off easily. Then use petrol to remove any remaining glue deposits. MikeW 1600 VX Black/Ali Race No 134 Membership No 6582
