Number Six
Slight problem with ground clearance Pierreteeth.gif I wonder what are the largest wheels/tyres that could be fitted... Hmmm... Andy
Pierre Gillet
The buggy of Schlesser does not seem to have wide tyres Number Six, probably large diameter though. I wonder what Schlesser could do driving a Caterham: at least the Paris-Spain bit would have been OK wink.gif Pierre
Number Six
Is there a web site to see the Schlesser car Pierre? Andy
Pierre Gillet
Number Six, try http://www.schlesser.com/ Sorry , it's in French Cheers, Pierre
Number Six
Pas de problem, je parle un peu Francais mais le URL - ces't ne pas vrai... Or something like that... I worked in Lille for SNCF for 2 years, learnt a hell of a lot about Stella Artois but not much French!teeth.gif Andy
Pierre Gillet
Andy, have you been working on the SOCRATE reservation system that works so well? Hence the Stella Artois biggrin.gif Pierre
Number Six
Yes, I installed it! Spent six months in Tulsa OK first, it's a modification of the American Airlines SABRE system - glad that Socrate is still working ok. My team were in seventh heaven, the beer capital of Europe!teeth.gif Although I had a house there I often used to commute in my BDR from West London twice a week, took the ferry and had a blast on the French roads from Calais to Lille - those were the days... french cops seem to like 7'steeth.gif Andy
Pierre Gillet
That's right. Seven drivers here are seen as being Gentlemen Drivers, a bit like Austin Healey 3000 etc. owners... The classic look of my 40 th Anniversary certainly helps too! If they knew... Pierre
Stijn LUYCK 1
The beer capital of Europe ... Stella Artois ... you are hurting my pride to be a Belgian, Leuven is what you mean not Lille.
John Richens
Stijn, I will never forget 1993,I was on a classic Rac fun rally doing seven circuits in seven days (in an E-type)... We had a stopover in Leuven after doing the Ford test track(I think we were the first public ever to be let in )... We had to leave our cars in a square overnight watched over by security guards and were told to go to the brewery pub because they were giving way a free pint to each competitor... We finally left at midnight I think and I was very glad that I wasn't driving the next day !
John E
Pierre, Where abouts in France do you reside. My family and I will be trailering the 7 over to a site at Chateau des Ormes near Dol de Bretagne in August. We plan to leave the teenagers to their own devices on the site and do some daily touring in the 7.

Pierre Gillet
John, I am leaving about 30km West from Paris , not far from Normandy. Do not know still what we shall do in August ( awaiting to know among other things the place where the Caterham Festival will take place!) Let's keep in touch. Cheers, Pierre Pierre
Stijn LUYCK 1
Leuven is a "student" town east-ish from Brussels. The Stella brewery is located conveniently just beside the town itself Stella, the beer we Belgians export because we got way better at home! smile.gif
Number Six
Stijn, Now I've done it ... insulted the Belgians about their beer - I realise you lot have shrines in your houses to the God of beer, and I accept under EEC law that this is mandatory in Belgium. For that I apologise! For what it's worth, I made regular forays into Bruges to interrogate the local beer-sellers (pubs) - and was impressed enough to stay overnight (bolloxed) due to the friendliness of the locals. Also FWIW the Stella they sell in Europa (epecially near the Franco-Belgian border) is not quite the same as the Stella sold in the UK... just like the real Budvar you can buy in bottles (from CZK) is not the same as the pisswater they sell in the USA (Bud)... come back Watneys Red Barrel, all is forgiven... Long live Trappiste!teeth.gif Andy

Robert OSELLO
Hi Pierre, Louvain is the french translation for Leuven. Even if Stella is the well known belgium beer, I would suggest you guys to test Jupiler beer: Jupille close to Liege (Luik) where the brewery is located was the beer capital for "french" belgian people! Robert.
Stijn LUYCK 1
Shrines is slightly exagerated ... the EEC does not allow us to make shrines under their building regulations. They did make a special law however that allows us to have big refrigerators and cellars to stock beer ... for the sacreficing ofcourse smile.gif
Pierre Gillet
Hi Robert! Excuse my ignorance! Louvain, mais c'est bien sur... A bientot, Pierre
