Sent back to Burton

Received a new saddle from Burton but it looks like it needs a damn good fettling 🤯 Decided to send it back for a refund and look elsewhere.

Got the refund OK but minus the postage £6.67 + tax. 😞

I’ve had terrible stuff from Burton over the years, the worst were twin cam engine block oil gallery plugs that were BSP rather than NPT…twin cam new timing chest castings that were seriously inaccurate. But worse still was their attitude to it!

I’ve just fitted a bronze one supplied by Steve Perks at SPC (he of TracSport frame).

Fitted perfectly.

Did you have to bend anything to get it on the shaft? If so, what, where & how much bend

I've had a bronze saddle from Burton. Was fine and clipped gently into place.

the bonzes versions need a gentle squeeze on the lower tangs - easy to do, pop it on, rotate 180, gentle squeeze, rotate back180, smear of lube, fit gear lever then blat

Advice is to squeeze… I didn’t - just put it on the end of the selector and offered them up into place as a sub-assembly and then did up the three bolts.
