Brake Pads (Again I hear everyone yawn)

wild bill

Recommended Posts

My car is a (or was originally) a 1997 1.8 K series supersport

Wide track suspension standard brakes. Can anyone point me to the correct pads (link or part number)

My pads are squeaking and they haven't been changed for a while which would indicate hardened pads so it's a job worth doing. Set i ordered online were wrong because i'm a muppet. Any pointers appreciated

Edited to say I ordered Mintex 1144 pads Caterham 7 and they didn't fit hence my question. What am I missing (apart from a brain obvs)

I had similar issues.

Later cars had different calipers with larger pads.

Mintex 1144 pads are available for many cars and variations of makes.

Ordering Mintex 1144 for a Caterham as I nearly did will get you the later ones!

I got these for my 1996 Supersport.

If you contact Demon Tweaks and tell them you are a club member they send you a link to pay with free P&P

When I had Mintex 1144 pads they squealed every time i braked even though I broke them in as per instructions. Heavy braking gave a temporary fix but the squeal would come back after a few miles. Loads of dust as well which may have led to a caliper seizure. Everyone else swears by them but I swore at them.
