New water pump? K series

During my diy service, I noticed very light coolant staining which appears to be from the base of the water pump. It's 24 years old and cam belt is dead on 5 years.  Have verniers fitted so don't fancy doing this myself.  Fluid level does not appear to have dropped and not wet there when cold.  Assume a new pump / belt is required?

You assume correctly. 5 years is a good time to change your cam belt. Don't forget the tensioner also. The fact you have verniers does not make it anymore difficult than standard. You do not need to touch the adjustment of the verniers.

As Paul says, no need to touch the adjustment of the verniers, but there is the possibility the exact TDC position will be lost when undoing the bottom crank pulley bolt, as the cambelt lower pulley is a lousy fit on the crankshaft, unless it's been shimmed to fit.

I've had it both ways, so I recheck the precise timing (my OCD) but real world difference to engine performance maybe is negligible.
