TheArchitect
Hello!I have picked up some second hand half doors however the press stud positions don't work well meaning some can't be fastened and others just mean the door is bowing outwards. Has anyone gone through this before? Im Thinking of just removing the old press studs in the doors and installing new that match the cars existing studs? The holes from the old ones can then be patched with some silicone / gorilla tape etc. Both doors seem to have different setting out too which is a pain.Rich
Member Jonathan Kay Posted August 30, 2023 Member Share Posted August 30, 2023 "The holes from the old ones can then be patched with some silicone / gorilla tape etc."How about removing the inner part to protect the paint but gluing the outer part back on the door? Might look neater.Jonathan
Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted August 30, 2023 Leadership Team Share Posted August 30, 2023 When I fitted some s/h ones I fitted new poppers where needed, then from an old piece of vinyl I had lying around (from building speaker cabinets back in the day) I punched out some small circles using an office paper hole punch. I glued the circles over the old holes with Copydex and the result was very good.
