6 point Harness and Leather seats....

Anyone done this ?

I have a set of 6 pointers Id like to use when on Track and maybe occasionally a more spirited road blat....

I think my car has the attachments already fitted, but I would need to allow an access hole though the seats for the crutch strap ?

Looking for ideas really.

This is what I had in my last car. Cloth seats but works equally well with leathers, It worked really well and looked neat IMO.

You can just pass the crotch strap through the gap between the back of the seat and seat squab and sit on it.

#3 - I have done this on my leather seats. It was slightly strange at first but I wear the crutch strap all the time now. I much prefer it and I don't feel safe without it.
 

I won't go into too much detail but there is a bit of re-arranging necessary when you drop into the seat, to get comfortable before you cinch up the belts.

It's fine, the designated way and easy enough to try & reject if you don't like it.

BTW:- you will always slide around on a leather seat, the material simply doesn't offer any grip.

I made some measurements and then Oxted modified the seat base with a slot for the harness to pass through. Very neat, comes through further back than that image above though.

#8 yes, these are photos of one modified by Oxted that I based mine on. I first tried laying the straps over the seat but they didn't feel the same as coming through the seat which stops the buckle lifting up. We don't really know how safe these solutions are.
