Tacho Electrical Connector

Hi all,

In the middle of an ECU change on my Beaulieu,  and I need to fit a new connector into the plug that goes into the back of the tacho, but I'm not having any luck finding what I need to order. Can anyone advise where I can get one/ recognise what style it is?

How many pins on the instrument?

There's a couple of different types. I'll have a look after the rugby.

I think that the Beaulieu is a 2001 Vauxhall 1600.

I suggest copying that Caerbont description from the label and sending that and a photograph of the pin layout to Caerbont and to Redline.

And if they can't help with the connector letting us know.

Having said that I've just found this diagram on the Caerbont site:

Hi Jonathon,

Will do, I've found a very similar connector on amazon for window winder mechanisms, but they only sell them in packs of 10, so still probably easier to contact Caerbont/Redline as you say. 

Shouldn't need any wiring diagrams thanks, I've got the assembly guide and there's a drawing in there.

As Jonathan says,

AMP Multilock 040 series, part no. 174044-2; RS 362-8768, £1.60ea.

You will probably also require contacts,

AMP part no. 173681-1 (20 AWG); RS 712-1889, £6.10 for 50.

Sorry Graham and Jonathan, I've only just seen your responses, but that's brilliant thanks, will get them ordered then that's the last of the wiring to do.
