SamC
Brake advice wanted please…I’m going to be replacing discs and pads on my CSR over the winter. This will be the first time I’ve done it, so have no preferences/experiences of what pad material is best to use. Does anyone have any recommendations.I’ll be doing a couple of track days, and probably a couple of thousand miles on the road per year. Also, any top tips on where to get rear discs from without having nearly £500 stolen from me from Caterham?! For a boggo standard solid disc, that sounds nuts.(P.s. I’m planning on keeping it standard, so won’t be upgrading calipers etc.)Cheers!
Leadership Team Andrew 21 Edney Posted October 27, 2022 Leadership Team Share Posted October 27, 2022 Why do the discs need replacing, out of curiosity?
SamC
Discs on both axles are thin and have got got quite deep lips on the OD. Think they are the originals and have done 40,000 miles.

aerobod - near CYYC
Did you mean DS2500 Ben? They've worked well on the rear of my R400D over the years.
BenF
James... just had a look on the web and you must be rightAndy did say DS5220 in the email he sent to me, but must have been a typo!
SamC
Great, cheers! I've heard that from others too, along with DS1.1s.I think I'll go for the DS2500 this time and see how I get on as the DS1.1s might be a bit more track biased.I found this link useful too... DW199
How important is ECE Regulation 90 compliance if the car is to be used on the road? Does it still apply in the UK and if so, does it apply to Caterhams?
