Nick T
Jonathan thank you for your assistance. the one I have fitted has the part no P2606645AV, combined pump and sensor. M just wondering if anyone has used a non CC part or upgrade?
John Vine
Duratec fuel pumps are standard Ford parts. The pump on my 2008 R400 is Ford p/n 3M51-9H307, as fitted to the Focus and C-Max.From 2015 on, CC used Ford p/n BV61-9H307-DD, as fitted to the Focus ST250.What year is your car?You should be able to find second-hand Ford pumps on ebay for under £100.Is there a particular fault with your pump?JV
Nick T
Hi John,Thanks for the reply, the issue is that's it's not working. The car is a 2011 build, so should be the earlier type. I will have a look to see what I can find.
John Vine
I assume you've checked fuses and wiring, but have you tried a direct 12v supply plus earth to the pump?I don't know what the P-numbers signify, but my pump is P1697156AT, with a date of 27/09/07.JV
ChrisC
Later models also have a fuel pump module, mounted on the boot floor, not sure what it does. I wonder if this is the reason why there is new part number.
Nick T
Yes I am getting a voltage at the pump (engine cranking) so I am assuming it's not an electrical issue.
John Vine
Re #8:It would also be worth checking the earth side for continuity. You should have this connector (viewed from cable entry): The pump earth is B10.While you've got the connector off, check that the pins are correctly seated.JV
Member Jonathan Kay Posted May 4, 2022 Member Share Posted May 4, 2022 "It would also be worth checking the earth side for continuity."Yes.And before removing the pump I'd run a good feed and earth directly to it.Jonathan
John Vine
And before removing the pump I'd run a good feed and earth directly to it.Definitely. In #8, Nick reports "voltage at the pump". Provided that's the full-fat 12v, he just needs a dedicated earth. It's also worth checking the internal resistance of the pump itself across YG168 and B10 via the pump connector pins. I'd expect something under 1 ohm.JV
Nick T
Hi all, thanks for your assistance with this. It is indeed the Ford part no 3M51-9H307 as identified by JV. I will get the meter out and do some checks when I get 5. Just in case anyone is reading this thread in the future, I would not expect to see 12v while the engine is cranking, given the small battery. It is likely to be nearer 10v.
