2009 SV weeping fuel tank

Evening all, I've just had it reported to me by the garage servicing my car that the fuel tank is weeping underneath along the centre where the baffle is inside. Anyone else had this and what have you done about it. Replace the tank? Won't get to see it myself until Tuesday.

I'd get it out and inspected by whoever might repair it if that's possible.

Had it on my 1 year old 420R!  Hairline crack developed where internal baffle had been welded.
Luckily under warranty so new tank fitted.

I had the same Nigel, probably at a similar age to yours. Tank out, thoroughly cleaned then welded.

Its been fine since with no further issues.

Thanks Stu, I think I may get a new tank, have it swapped over and sell the old one as is or in repaired condition to minimise time without the car in the better weather. I had a lot of hassle trying to find someone locally to do a weld repair on the exhaust a while back. I knew plenty of welding companies from offshore work but they wouldn't touch a little private job. Ironically the company I used to work for built lots of Subsea ROVs in aluminium and other gear in stainless.
