Identifying which LSD

I have a year 2000 1.6 Superlight, factory built and supplied with LSD from new.  From background reading I'm assuming it will be a ZF differential but is that correct and is there an easy way to check?

If it is a ZF you also need to check it was set correctly for a 7 some ZF's came with incorrect rams and massive 65 lb/ft preload.

Theres a correctly set one in for sale at the moment

I think Ive got a ZF in my older K series - how do I check the preload on this diff without damaging it?
