7SW
Hello, A friend recently bought an HPC built in 1992.The alternator is now out of order and needs to be replaced but no way to find the correct reference for ordering a new one.Does anyone has this reference and where may we find this one? Thanks,Fred.

Wrightpayne
I'm sure VX owners fit one from a Daihatsu which is quite compact.Hopefully, Tazio will be along shortly to confirm!Ian
7 wonders of the world
Nippon Denso are the small ones form Daihatsu and Kubota diggers, there are several mounting type and 2 or 3 plug options though so best get the model number from a know fitment.Cracking little units

7SW
We were unable to read the model number onto the actual alternator, everything is unreadable.
ECR
From my notes:Valeo - part number 432836I have a small nippon denso alternator fitted which has proved to be a lot more reliable. It does require a different front mounting strap and modifications to the wiring loom.and has a much smaller output (which is fine for my use)At one stage I fitted a Thoroughbred alternator which appeared to be a Motolec A460 (with 24313 stamped on side), so that may be an option also
GordonW
Motorola units were also used at this time, these can be rebuilt to as new condition, possibly better, by two companies in the UK, Guy Auto Electrics 01920 822003 and Powerlite 01384 261984. This would allow you to use existing mounting points and connections. I have used Guy Auto Electrics recently and so far am favourably impressed. GordonW
Powerlite suggested two replacement possibilities from their range RAC 056 or RAC 068, speak to Julian Adams, very helpful.
