Wrightpayne
The R500K often came with a mini apollo tank which sat on a bracket mounted on the steering rack clamp bolts. It uses the same sandwich plate / pipe route as the big apollo but the air bleed went back to the tower on the bell tank as opposed to the cam cover.I trying to understand why a mini version was used instead of the tall version? Was the purpose to gain capacity (belltank on the low side) or de-aeration (tower on belltank supposed to do this)? Is it a weight thing? I have a standard height apollo in stock and wonder if there is any reason why I shouldnt fit it with a belltank? RegardsIan
rj
Ian,I think it's only because of the capacity - which of course adds to weight as well
Wrightpayne
My mates R500K also has an oil cooler which will add to the capacity. The engine is like an octopus with all the oil hoses!!Ian
rj
A can of worms The apollo can be fitted reasonably tidy, but to be honest: If it was not for my track abuse I'd just stick with the belltank and keep an eye on the oil level.
