620r diff carrier

Having read about a member who had lost some mountings on his diff housings because the bolt had come loose, I went to check my own. To my astonishment one bolt was missing completely and the others loose.

Was wondering if anyone else had this issue?

Its something that need to be checked regularly, the right hand lower bolt is the one that suffers the most from coming loose. If you're using it on the track I recommend checking after each session.

Ive not had this issue on my 620 ( which has done a fair few miles and track days  now)  and but others seem to recently . what about a spring washer under the head or some loctite ?

Do it right and use Schnorr serrated Safety Locking Washers -ebay is your friend

Doesn't seem to make any difference what type of lock washer used the bolt still needs checking as it will loosen. Schnorr washers are fitted as standard these days.

I’ve increased the torque on the two lower bolts about 50% above the standard torque (still within the elastic range of the bolts), use blue loctite and Schnorr washers. Haven’t had a bolt loosen for a couple of years now, after losing two before that.

110Nm compared with the standard 81Nm.
