Foggy
Hi Revilla, yes the plugs have been changed (see my initial post) in an attempt to fix the problem and at the same time the plug leads and HT lead were checked. John, as a follow up I will give the garage that carried out the initial attempt at diagnosis a call to try and determine how they tested the coil and to confirm they are sure it’s ok.Madmalc, thanks, I’ll try anything now! Foggy
Good evening all,as an update to my misfire problem I thought it only fair to acknowledge the many helpful suggestions offered by way of an explanation regarding the final solution. In the end the problem(s) weren't electrical at all. I had a split in the hose from the manifold to the evap unit and also the pipe from the manifold to pressure sensor. Furthermore, the pipe from the ECU to the pressure sensor had become detached!! The car is now back to normal and running absolutely fine.Again, very many thanks to all the contributors to this post. It really is very kind of so many to take the time to respond to a plea for help. Thank you all.
revilla
The joys of trying to diagnose these things over the Internet! Main thing is you're back up and running. Glad it's sorted. Enjoy this weather!
