Our VW Campervan is for sale. We have had her for 5 years but has had very little use due to my reluctance to use her in wet weather. Had great picnics and we used it for our daughters wedding, but never used overnight.

It's a show winning camper. Totally rebuilt in 2009 by top engineer, kept dry, and with very little use since then. Extensive history file.

Asking price £27,500.

That is stunning....had no idea that the value of these was so strong nowadays.

Silly question, but what engine does it have? Subaru, Porsche or original VW unit?

Thinking of all the solid ones I have passed up in relatively recent years at silly money...

Good luck with the sale... *thumb_up*

Hi Dave, you can blame Jamie Oliver for that *wink* - Dealer price for this early Bay would be circa £35k, there aren't many this good. I know that because we looked long and hard before we bought her. Decent Splitties are now £50k+. Plenty around at lower prices if you don't mind a bit of hidden rust here and there.

The engine is the original 1600cc VW aircooled, slightly tweaked by the engineer. It has twin downdraft Webers *smile*

Thanks Steve - yes, I remember the Top Gear episode where someone was hooning Olivers Camper around the track as he tried to cook something in the back.....*whistle* they seem to have gone the same way as old AVO escorts and the like - good for you though. Gotta love the classic icons....

At those prices a new T5 (or whatever it is nowadays) camper with full westfalia kit is within range. Or a second hand DB9.....the family mans aston *thumbup*
